Weddington Elementary K-5 Music Syllabus
I hope that all my students will:
Sing (Tuneful), Dance (Beatful) and Enjoy Music (Artful) - this is stated best by two amazing music coaches, John Feierabend and Ms. Mangusso: 1. "Tuneful– to have tunes in their heads and learn to coordinate their voices to sing those tunes." - John Feierabend "To be tuneful will be able to sing lullabies to their children, to carry a tune, join others in singing ceremonial songs like “The Star Spangled Banner”, and to sing for the joy of singing." - Ms. Mangusso 2. "Beatful—to feel the pulse of music and how that pulse is grouped in either twos or threes." - John Feierabend "By being beatful they will be able to rock on the beat while singing that lullaby, dance at weddings or parties, and to play or sing along to their favorite tune." - Ms. Mangusso 3. "Artful—to be moved by music in the many ways music can elicit a feelingful response." - John Feierabend "By being artful they will be moved by music and seek out venues to share artful experiences with others in concert halls,or in community bands and choirs or by learning to play a new instrument." - Ms. Mangusso |
